About Life The winds carry scatter across the planet the seeds of life to bring forth the grass and the flowers and woods. The eternal winds of the universe are rushing along. What do they do? No one knows. But I am sure that nature has created us, endowed us with intelligence, so that we, like her servant, the winds, can carry life into the vast and limitless emptiness and to its innumerable worlds. Reason should win out on earth and then in the whole universe. Glazkov, Yuri My own view is that although we do not yet know fundamental physical laws, when and if we find them the possibility of life in a universe, governed by those laws will be written into them. The existence of life in the universe is not a selective principle acting upon the laws of nature; rather it is a consequence of them. Pagels, Heinz We are not alone in the universe, and do not bear alone the whole burden of life and what comes of it. Life is a cosmic event- so far as we know the most complex state of organization that matter has achieved in our cosmos. It has come many times, in many places- places closed off from us by impenetrable distances, probably never to be crossed even with a signal. As men we can attempt to understand it, and even somewhat to control and guide its local manifestation. On this planet that is our home, we have very reason to visit it well. Yet should we fail, all is not lost. Our kind will try again elsewhere. Wald, George |
About Mind Our minds soar with instant connection, but our feet are stuck in temporal boots. Blaise, Clarke The human mind is not capable of grasping the Universe. We are like a little child entering a huge library. The walls are covered to the ceiling with books in many different tongues. The child knows that something must have written these books. It does not know who or how. It does not understand the languages in which they are written. But the child notes a definite plan in the arrangement of the books- a mysterious order which it does not comprehend, but only dimly suspects. Einstein, Albert A mind accustomed to mathematical deduction, when confronted with the faulty foundations [of astrology] resists along, long time, like an obstinate mule, until compelled by beating and curses to put its foot into that dirty puddle. Kepler, Johannes |
About the Moon The moon like a flower In heaven's high bower, With silent delight Sits and smiles on the night. Blake, William The moon was shining sulkily, Because she thought the sun Had got no business to be there After the day was done- Carroll, Lewis The moving moon went up the sky, And nowhere did abide; Softly she was going up, And a star or two beside. Coleridge, Samuel Taylor …the moon is nothing But a circumambulating aphrodisiac Divinely subsidized to provoke the world Into a rising birth –rate. Fry, Christopher As when the moon, refulgent lamp of night, O'er heaven's clear azure spreads her sacred light, When not a breath disturbs the deep serene; Around her throne the vivid planets roll, And stars unnumbered gild the glowing pole, O'er the dark trees a yellower verdue shed, And tip with silver every mountain's head. Homer They died on mince, and slice of quince, Which they ate with a runcible spoon; And hand in hand, on the edge of the sand, They danced by the light of the moon, The moon, the moon, They danced by the light of the moon Lear, Edward The moon is the Rosetta stone of the solar system, and to the student of the origin of the earth and planets, this lifeless body is even more important than Mars and Venus. Jastrow, Robert & Newell, Homer E. By death the moon was gathered in Long ago, ah long ago; Yet still the silver corpse must spin And with another's light must glow. Her frozen mountains must forget Their primal hot volcanic breath, Doomed to revolve for ages yet, Void amphitheatres of death. Huxley, Julian(i love this one!) Queen of heaven, fair of face, Undefiled by alien feet; Where the Sun's untrammeled heat Meets the cold of outer space; Soon no more the Queen of Night, For your conquest is in sight. Lightner, Alice Saw the moon rise from the water, Rippling, rounding from the water, Saw the flecks and shadows on it, Whispered, "What is that, Nokomis?" And the good Nokomis answered, "Once a warrior very angry, Seized his grandmother and threw her Up into the sky at midnight; Right against the moon he threw her; "Tis her body that you see there". Longfellow, Henry Wadsworth To behold the wandering moon, Riding near her highest noon, Like one that had bin led astray Through the heaven's wise pathless way; And oft, as if her head show bowed, Stooping through a fleecy cloud Milton, John There is no one among you, my brave colleagues, who has not seen the moon, or at least heard speak of it. Verne, Jules |
About The Sun The night has a thousand eyes, And the day but one; Yet the night of the bright world dies, With the dying sun Bourdillon, Francis William The face of the sun is now without expression, but it tells us precious little of what is in its heart. Deutsch, Armin J. The glorious lamp of heaven, the radiant sun, is Nature's eye;… Dryden, John Truly the light is sweet, And it is pleasant for the eyes to behold the sun… Ecclesiastes 11:7 High in his chariot glow'd the lamp of day. Falconer, William The sun, whose rays Are all ablaze With ever-living glory, Does not deny His Majesty- He scorns to tell a story! Gilbert, William Sullivan, Arthur The sun…is new each day. Heraclitus Now if the sun is not created a miraculous body, to shine on and give out heat, we must suppose it to be a body subject to the laws of matter (I do not say there may not be laws which we have not discovered) but, at all events, not violating any laws we have discovered or believe we have discovered. We should deal with the sun as we should any large mass of molten iron, or silicon, or sodium. Kelvin, Lord Down sank the great red sun, and in golden glimmering vapours veiled the light of his face, like the prophet descending from Sinai. Longfellow, Henry Wadsworth Whence are the beams, O sun! thy everlasting light! Thou comes forth in thy awful beauty; the stars hide themselves in the sky; the moon, cold and pale, sinks in the western wave; but thou myself movest alone. Macpherson, James The sun, looking down on the tranquil landscape, seems conscious of the presence of every living thing on which he is pouring his blessing, while they in turn, with perhaps the exception of man, seem conscious of the presence of the sun as a benevolent father and stand hushed and waiting. Muir, John …the moon's love affair has come to an end! Just look! There is stands; pale and dejected---before the dawn! For already it is coming, the glowing sun---its love of the earth is coming! All sun-love is innocence and creative desire! Just look how it comes impatiently over the sea! Do you not feel the thirst and hot breath of its love? Nietzsche, Friedrich |
About Sky It is impossible for any sensitive person to look at a star filled sky without being stirred by thoughts of creation and eternity. The mystery of the origin and destiny of the universe haunts us throughout our lives. Friedman, Herbert Sky---what a scowl of cloud Till, near and far, Ray on ray split the shroud Splendid, a star! Browning, Robert Nature offers no greater splendor than the starry sky on a clear, dark night. Silent, timeless, jeweled with the constellations of ancient myth and legend, the night sky has inspired wonder throughout the ages. Astronomy Survey Committee …each step forward in unraveling the mystery of comets (or any other natural phenomenon ) brings great pleasure to all who look to the sky as a source of beauty and intellectual challenge. Brandt, John C. Chapman, Robert D. A sky as pure as water bathed the stars and brought them out. De Saint-Exupery, Antoine The sky is the daily bread of the eyes. Emerson, Ralph Waldo http://www.gurdit.com/poetry/images/starry_sky.jpg |
Where do I begin To tell the story Of how greatful love can be The sweet love story That is older than the sea That sings the truth about the love he brings to me Where do I start With the first hello he gave the meaning To this empty world of mine That never did Another love another time he came into my life And made a living fine he fills my heart he fills my heart With very special things With angel songs With wild imaginings he fills my soul With soo much love That anywhere I go I’m never lonely With his along who could be lonely I reach for her hand Its always there How long does it last Can love be measured by the hours in a day I have no answers no But this much I can say I know I’ll need his till this love song burn away And he’ll be there... How long does it last Can love b measured by the hours in a day I have no answers no But this much i can say I know ill need his till this love song burn away And he'll be there {پپوله} |

Again Sky It is doubtful whether there is in the whole range of human experience any more awe-inspiring spectacle than that presented by the sky on a clear and moonless night. Under the volt of the sparkling heavens one is raised, if ever, to an actual realization of the fact that the earth beneath his feet is a relatively tiny mass in comparison with the infinite cosmos spread out above. Moulton, Forest Ray My soul is in the sky.(a very nice sentence) Shakespeare, William Each night the sky splits open like a melon Its starry filaments The astronomer examines with great intensity Shore, Jane note: my notes are adapted from the book : Astronomically Speaking, what is the source of yours'? please mention |

About the Dark Matter (a bit scientific) ...greet the unseen with a cheer! Browning, Robert ...what is essential, is invisible to the eye! De Saint-Exupery, Antoine because all things balance - as on a wheel - and we cannot see nin-tenth of what is real, our claims of self-reliance are pieced together by unpanned gold. the whole system is a game: the planets are the shells; our Earth, the pea. may there be no moaning of the bar. like ships at sunset in a reverie, we are shadows of what we are! Reeve, F.D. |
NOOROZ In harmony with rebirth of nature, the Persian New Year Celebration, or Norooz, always begins on the first day of spring, March 20th of each year. Norooz ceremonies are symbolic representations of two ancient concepts - the End and Rebirth. About 3000 years ago Persian's major religion was Zoroastrianism, named in honor of its founder Zoroaster, and arguably the world's first monotheistic religion. Zoroastrians had a festival called "Farvardgan" which lasted ten days, and took place at the end of the solar year. It appears that this was a festival of sorrow and mourning , signifying the end of life while the festival of Norooz, at the beginning of spring signified rebirth, and was a time of great joy and celebration. Norooz was officially acknowledged and named "Norooz" by mythical Persian emperor, Shah Jamshid, from Achaemenid Dynasty (500 BC). Ashaemenied created the first major empire in the region and built Persepolis complex (Takhte Jamshid) in the city of Shiraz. Norooz in Persian means "New Day" and brings hope, peace and prosperity to the world and has been celebrated among people regardless of ethnic background, political views or religion in many countries around the globe such as Iran, Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Turkey, Uzbekistan, Pakistan, Georgia, Iraq, Tajikistan, Syria ,Armenia and India. Some of the activities during Norooz are Spring cleaning, buying new cloths, painting eggs, family reunion, giving presents, visiting neighbors and friends and celebrating by having a picnic on the 13th day of Spring. Happy Norooz |

New Here I wanna write some nice English Massages. But they are really nice. Sometimes my eyes get jealous of my heart. You know why? because you always remain close to my HEART, but far from my EYES. ************************************************************ ********************* Friendship is just like: H2O: No color, No shape, No place, No size, No money, No rich, No poor… but still essential for living and forever. ************************************************************ ******************** Many people lose the small joys in hope for the big happiness. . . (Pearl S.Buck) ************************************************************ ******************************** Who knows? Maybe this world is another one's hell! ************************************************* If we have no peace, it is because we have forgotten that we belong to each other. ************************************************************ ************************************* A mirror is where we find a reflection of our appearance, but the reflection of our soul is found in the heart. ************************************************************ ************************************************************ A famous English SMS! GODISNOWHERE This can be read as: "God Is Now Here", or as "God Is No Where". Everything in life depends on how you look at them. |

Best for you The best cosmetic for lips is truth for voice is prayer for eyes is pity for hands is charity for heart is love and for life is friendship No one can go back and make a brand new start Anyone can start from now and make a brand new ending God didn't promise days without pain laughter, without sorrow, sun without rain but He did promise strength for the day, comfort for the tears and light for the way Disappointments are like road bumps, they slow you down a bit but you enjoy the smooth road afterwards Don't stay on the bumps too long Move on When you feel down because you didn't get what you want justsit tight and be happy because God has thought of something better to give you When something happens to you, good or bad consider what it means There's a purpose to life's events to teach you how to laugh more or not to cry too hard You can't make someone love you all you can do is be someone who can be love the rest is up to the person to realize your worth It's better to lose your pride to the one you love than to lose the one you love because of pride We spend too much time looking for the right person to love or finding fault with those we already love when instead we should be perfecting the love we give Never abandon an old friend You will never find one who can take there place When people talk behind your back, what does it mea Simple! It means that you are two steps ahead of them So, keep moving ahead in Life |

My introduction: John Donne was one of the pioneers of metaphysical poetry. the main point in his poetry is mixing both: thought and emotion, which makes his works so modern and tangible for 21 century man.this is a love poetry by John Donne, a late 16th century English poet. I have translated it myself. Hope you enjoy it.
Another important thing is the similarity of this poetry and some of our own. I have brought some as examples. This shows the universality of ideas.
Japanese boy teaches a lesson in sacrifice
Break, break, break Break, break, break On thy cold gray stones, O Sea And I would that my tongue could utter The thoughts that arise in me O, well for the fisherman's boy That he shouts with his sister at play O, well for the sailor lad That he sings in his boat on the bay And the stately ships go on To their haven under the hill But O for the touch of a vanish'd hand And the sound of a voice that is still Break, break, break At the foot of thy crags, O Sea But the tender grace of a day that is dead Will never come back to me.
personally, I adore this poem because of the nostalgic theme of loss and it's reference to sea as a power which we can identity with |
